They’re creepy and crawly and all sorts of gnarly! These 4 real-life horror scenes were found inside of self storage units across the country. From bizarre to just plain terrifying, you’ll never look at a storage facility the same way again…

A Final Resting Place For The Dead

Ever watch Storage Wars on A&E? Star of the show Darrell Sheets revealed that he’s had his encounters with the dead. In fact, he’s quoted as saying that he “...actually found a body years ago in like 1988 down in San Diego, California… You know, I don’t really want to talk about it a whole lot, but it wasn’t a pleasant situation. But in this business it does happen. I’ve found ashes, coffins…”

Need Some Extra Parts?

In 2012, an Assistant Medical Examiner in Florida was charged with keeping more than 100 body parts within a storage container in Pensacola. There were “Lungs, hearts, tissue samples and 10 brains…” with “body parts from more than 100 people… stored in formaldehyde in plastic containers, specimen cups, trash bags and one part even in a 32-ounce Styrofoam cup from a convenience store.” What’s worse is according to police, some of the containers were cracked and leaking! The poor clean-up crew! And you thought having to make your bed was bad! Esh!

Cat-sicle

In Long Island City in 2016, a man won a unit during auction for $150 and discovered 40 frozen dead cats inside. One cat was even skinned and placed inside an aluminum tray! The unit was originally owned by a 66 year old woman who paid month to month. Detectives said when “...they opened the freezers, it was the smell of death. They had to change their clothes it was so bad.”

Ready For Bed!

In November of 2017, a man was found sleeping with his baby and toddler in his storage unit near his wife’s body which was found in a cooler. The man sadly stated that the children’s mother “...just killed herself, and you guys are going to kidnap my children, our children." Police launched an investigation over the bizarre events.

Tyler Perry once said, “I definitely do not like Halloween. I don't like masks, creepy clowns, dark things, goblins or witches. They're not just my thing.” And after reading these odd tales, we can’t blame him! Who knew self-storage could be so spooky!

Happy Halloween!
